Bonnie Brown

Bonnie Brown’s painting has developed into a highly personal visual language of her own; she explores her surfaces through texture, pattern and colour. The poetry of the recent work is often reflective of her time spent in her French studio in the Charente-Maritime. The images and symbols recorded and reconfigured from her love of the culture, landscape and language. The accumulation of journeys at once vital and futile, enriching our memories and understanding, helping to connect the visible and the invisible. The result is a visual refinement of these observations into her own emblematic imagery.

“Brown’s series of works show an artist observing and experimenting and through these modes of expression and through her choice of motifs we witness a level of artistic reflection, movement and poetry.” Susan Taylor. Curator. Artview.
