Peter Joyce

Peter Joyce, is a contemporary English painter whose works focus on the depiction of natural landscapes.
Born in Poole, Dorset in 1964, he gained a Diploma in Art and Design in 1982 from the Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design (now The Arts University College Bournemouth). From there he gained a BA(Hons) Degree in Fine Art & History of Art at the Stourbridge College of Technology and Art in 1985. Since then he has had numerous solo and mixed exhibitions and his work is shown regularly in London, New York and Europe. As well as exhibiting his own work, he taught at The Arts Institute at Bournemouth where he taught, amongst other things, the Diploma in Fine Art/Advanced Fine Art. He took up the position of President of the Bournemouth Arts Club from 1998 to 2008.
Peter Joyce now lives in Bouin, Vendee, Western France. The main subject of his work up until 2005 was the chalk downland and Isle of Purbeck landscapes and now the 'Marais' (marsh land) of the Breton-Vendéen region is the main subject.
Since 1990, Peter Joyce has been represented by Anthony Hepworth Fine Art Dealers Ltd.
His work is centred around abstract portrayals of natural, ecological and geographical themes and his paintings have been described as having a 'compelling yet lyrical beauty'.
